Ricardo Gonzalez, M.D.
Dr. Gonzalez is a board certified family physician who has practiced general medicine for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of NV School of Medicine and completing his family medicine residency at the University of Arizona, Dr. Gonzalez returned to Reno where he began his career working with the indigent and uninsured. Eventually going into private practice, Dr. Gonzalez expanded his education and became involved with the treatment of substance use disorders and their associated mental illness. For over a decade he served as medical director for WestCare, a local inpatient medical detoxification and crisis stabilization facility, while working with patients admitted at West Hills Hospital, a psychiatric and inpatient substance abuse hospital. He continues to practice outpatient medicine and serves as an Associate Professor for UNSOM helping train medical students. Most recently Dr Gonzalez has committed to caring for mental illness and substance use disorders by joining the team at Epic Brain Centers to assist in achieving the best care for our patients.
